Yeast Intolerance Treatment

How Do You Treat a Yeast Intolerance?

Antifungal drugs are prescribed to some individuals to bring under control a yeast proliferation. Some antifungal medications are applied topically such as in the case of a vaginal yeast infection while others may be taken oral in pill form. To treat a yeast intolerance is to bring back into control the delicate balance of gut flora. Elimination of as many sources of yeast in the diet and total elimination of refined sugars usually will resolve issues with proliferating yeast if there is no other issues with the immune system being compromised.  The unfortunate thing, however, is that this is way easier said than done for most people.  If you plan to eliminate yeast and sugar from your diet, be sure to let you family and friends know beforehand so they can provide support and encouragement.  Let them know that when you are together you expect them not to offer you any foods containing yeast or sugar so that you will not be tempted.  Just like with exercise, having a yeast-free / sugar-free buddy is also a great idea.
