Wheat Intolerance Diagnosis
How Can I Find Out If I Have A Wheat Intolerance?
Diagnosing a wheat intolerance, for the most part, is simple. To find out if you have a Wheat Intolerance the first step is to take an inventory of symptoms. Be as inclusive as possible. Then, eliminate wheat entirely from your diet for a period of 21 days. This means, absolutely no bread, bagels, wheat-based cereal, cookies, pasta and anything else you would otherwise eat that may contain wheat. After the 21 day period is over, take a follow-up inventory of symptoms. If symptoms have improved, it is likely that there is a wheat intolerance. If symptoms have not improved, it does not necessarily mean you do not have a wheat intolerance, however. It is possible that you have multiple food intolerances and therefore other food intolerances would need to be identified as well. Or perhaps you do not have a wheat intolerance after all. In most cases, however, if indeed you have a wheat intolerance, symptoms will improve after total elimination from the diet.
